Type of wine: D.O.C.G Morellino di Scansano
Area of Origin: The vineyards grow near Magliano in Toscana a few km from the area of the reserve “Park of Maremma”.
Cultivation: Spurred cordon with rows going from east to west. This particular vineyard-keeping allows a good level of phenolic maturation of the grape and the safeguarding of its typical aromas until the moment of the harvest. Sump distance 2,70m. X 0,80m.
Grapes: Sangiovese 100%.
Harvest: Takes place in the 2nd or 3rd week of September depending on the season and in any case, when the grapes reach optimal phenolic mature age ready to be harvested. The grapes are harvested manually and moved in boxes till the wine cellar..
Vinification: The grapes are vinified in a strict traditional way in tanks of limited volume. The grapes macerate for 20 days with a temperature control, which guarantees a good extraction of polyphenolic components. Such components give the typical color and the classic organoleptic characteristics of the product.
Maturation: After fermentation the wine ages for twelve months in 1000 liter oak barrel; we definitely bottled it at the end of the summer..
Refinement: The wine rests for six months in cellar before selling.
Color: Intense red ruby.
